Renowned Baguio activist and Cordillera People’s Alliance (CPA) co-founder James Balao was reported to have been abducted by armed men around 8 a.m. last September 17 while on his way home to La Trinidad, Benguet.

Compared to last year’s voters’ turnout, KASAMA/SSC Elections 2008 increased from around 4,000 last year to 6,939 this year out of 24,031 ( 28.87 per cent) expected voters.

In contribution to Baguio’s centennial celebration, the Department of Philosophy of Saint Louis University pioneered an art exhibit featuring some of Baguio’s finest independent artists at the IPR Multi-purpose Room on September 8.

Following a ‘perilous’ elections, 119 newly-elected officers of the Kataastaasang Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral/ Supreme Student Council (KASAMA/SSC) were inducted at the Hotel Supreme last October 4.

The only independent party not affiliated with any Executive Committee (ExeCom) lineup drew praises from voters in the September 20 Elections as ten out of 12 of their candidates won in the College of Human Sciences Supreme Student Council (SSC) Assembly.
