Responsible and Intelligent Governance Highlighting Transparency and Studentry (RIGHTS) party edged its biggest rival party by a mere one win during the Elections 2008.

Jonathan Bosantog of RIGHTS outclassed Kim Dyan Calderon of REPORMA-ACS for presidency with a 547-vote margin. Bosantog gained 2,872 votes, 43.53% of 6,598 voters ahead Calderon’s 2,325.

Jose Mari Molintas got the lowest votes at 1, 401, only 21.23% of the total voters.

RIGHTS candidate for Executive Secretary Ma. Regina Alabanza won by 1,050 votes against Giannina Martinne Masangcay. Out of 5,762 voters for the position, Alabanza gained 3,406.

A tight disparity of 64 votes made Dona Marie Bermusa of REPORMA-ACS lost the position of Secretary for Finance to Ernanie Pangilinan of RIGHTS. 2,859 out of 5,654 voters favored Pangilinan.

RIGHTS, however, lost the vice presidency to REPORMA-ACS Paul Christian Cortes with 3,230 against 2,835 voters of Cyr Bagayao.

REPORMA-ACS also grabbed the positions of Secretary for Public Relation and Secretary for Audit. Christian Aligo and Jay-R de Vera won them, respectively.

Aligo won by 2,106 votes leaving Tayler Sayucop (RIGHTS) with 2,088 and Sherielyn Baroña with 1,291. De Vera, on the other hand, seized 2,320 out of 5,709 votes against Oliver Wilfred Omengan (REPORMA-ACS) with 2,048 and Israel Bonite with 1,341.
